Well HELL-O Snow!

Talk about going from one extreme to another. Two days ago i was contemplating mowing my lawn one more time. and now it is under 2-3 feet snow drifts. but it is a green as can be just frozen solid. We had our first blizzard warning last night. We have had storm warnings before but not blizzard warnings. any ways it was an Arctic blast from the north. and my poor plants got caught in mid bloom still. they look as perfect as can be but are frozen solid. It's amazing how quickly things can change. That's why we need to be prepared. So David the next time you look in the pantry and say " looks like you have the whole dang grocery store in here" I'm going to bust out singing the song " Follow the Prophet", and I'm going to tell him I'm just being obedient.

winters coming

David was getting things winterized before it snowed and Caden was helping him. They spent most of the time blowing out the sprinkler system. and then driving around to check if the
sprinklers had gone back down into the ground. If not Caden would go around and step on them. He always loves going and helping Grandpa. I asked him if he wanted any breakfast but of course Grandpa had taken
care of that already. He gave him what he has every morning. COLD CEREAL IN A GLASS. Sounds nutritious to me. Whatever!!! But Caden was as happy as can be with it.I was also watching Brycen when I noticed him palming the little soccer ball. He is just like Caden, give him a ball to play with and he's totally happy.
Here he is showing off his two bottom teeth. He has grown up so fast. He's such a happy baby.

It's Autumn Time! The leaves are falling down.

Lions and Tigers and bears, OH MY! They don't look to scary. actually their kinda cute and cuddly.
Besides it being our halloween costume party, it was goofy glasses day.
Caden was on the lookout for bunnies, and he says he saw one in my garden. he was scouting it out.
Jack and clara loved the straw maze. The petting zoo was a big hit also.
What a cute little family. Pretty soon there will be 5.
The train ride was lots of fun, Jack couldn't decide if he liked the airplane or train best.

Angie had to make a trip to Moses Lake so we stopped at the pet store and Clara is not afraid of animals at all.

We went to the country Mercantile, one weekend and also the pumpkin patch in Othello for preschool. It is such a fun place for the family. Jack found him a pumpkin just his size. and he's 3 pumpkins tall. I LOVE LOVE, LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR! There is so much to be THANKFUL for.

Fall is here!

I love the fall, it's my favorite time of the year. It was a big weekend. celebrating birthdays and watching Conference.

September is a big month for birthdays in our family.Jason and Josh have a birthday on the same day and Hunter and Cadens are only 2 days apart. Jason turned 31, Josh hit the big 30, Hunter turned 6 and caden is now 4. lots of celebrating. They combined Josh's and Caden's party.
Jack is being a helpful big brother, pushing Clara. Caden and Jack are enjoying the cake and ice cream, Cousins are the best.
Heather had her snowie booth at the Leavenworth Salmon festival again this year. So I took the kids to see all the cool activities. It really was very fun and educational. They got to paint pictures, hear an indian story teller inside a great big in flatable fish. they learned the differant types of fish, made plaster animal tracks. got to hug all kinds of animals. They got to dress up as different animals. Sam was a chipmunk and Caden was a wolf. They had this fun cart track and miniture golf. A huge san box where the kids could build towns and villages. They showed how the indians smoked salmon and gave out samples. They had real indian dancers and all kinds of indian crafts. I give it 5 stars ***** :o)

Alaska!!!

This is an iceberg, that is by Juneau. The ice has a blue tint to it because it is so dense and there isn't any air in it. It will last longer than regular ice.

This is a waterfall that comes right off of the iceberg.

There is a rocky island that the sea lions go to bask in the sun. when you get close to them they get quite noisy.

David and I got to go to Alaska for a week. A friend of ours has a cabin on Admiralty Island. We went fishing. Caught lots of salmon, saw some killer whales, looked for bears...not very hard or very far from the cabin, because there are a lot of bears there. We also caught some crab and fished for halibut, but we didn't get any halibut....bummer! It really was a lot of fun:o)

On our biggest day we caught 14, on our smallest day we caught 4. The biggest weighed 18 lbs. needless to say we have lots of salmon in the freezer.

There was a pod of killer whales playing off to the side of our boat

This was my first salmon, it weighed 15 lbs.

David and I showing off our big ones.
